On the 15th of March, our group of seven students took a trip to the WIFI in Graz, to get our English skills tested, by representatives of the Cambridge University. We got tested across various areas, such as reading, use of English, writing, listening and speaking.
The day began with a warm welcome from the WIFI staff, who gave us directions to the examination rooms. There we were greeted by the representatives of the Cambridge University, who guided us through the rules and the entire examination process. While they were explaining the rules for the day, we noticed that they were a lot stricter about obeying the rules than what we are used to.
We got through the first few parts of the exam quite nicely, however, when it came to the listening part, the last part before the break, we felt that the tasks at the beginning had taken a toll on our concentration.
Finally, we got to the break and went out for lunch. While heading towards our destination we were already practicing for the last part of the day, the speaking test. It was quite stressful for some of us, because we needed a partner for this part and some colleagues got paired up with a random person we had never seen before that day.
In the end it turned out just fine. We all passed the exam and two of us even passed with an A grade (Overall rating points: 190/190 and 189/190), which means they achieved the C1 CEFR level (The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
We want to thank our school once more for giving us the opportunity to prepare for this exam, throughout the entire third grade and the fourth grade up until a week before the exam.
Thank you!!!
